Bernese Mountain Dogs
First of all, I want to demonstrate how is a Bernese Mountain dog look like. The Bernese Mountain Dog is a sturdy, heavy dog, with a nice tri-color double coat of black with the markings of rust and white. The dog should have a white blaze on the chest, white on the head and toes, and rust markings over each eye. The coat is very long and either straight or slightly wavy. The broad head has a slight furrow down the middle. The medium-sized triangular ears are pendant. With their dark eyes they have a gentle expression and their nose is black. The body is compact with a wide, deep chest. The brisket should reach down to the elbow at least. The tail is long and bushy, carried low when in repose (a slight upward curve is permissible when the dog is alert). Dewclaws should be removed.

Bernese Mountain Dogs for saleNow this type of dog can be a problem, if we live in a flat. He is so big, that he/she wouldn't feel himself/herself good in our home. However, if we have a garden it should be no problem to take care of a Bernese Mountain Dog. This "giant" pet average height is between 61 and 71 cm, and it's weight can reach more than 50kg!
Daily to weekly brushing of the long thick coat is important, with extra care needed when the coat is shedding. Bathe or dry shampoo as necessary. This breed is a seasonal, heavy shedder. Life expectancy is about just 6-8 years which is very short I think. They need regular exercise, which means you should take them for long walks. Furthermore, they are relatively passive and inactive indoors, and they will be very lazy if you don't take him for a walk continously. They are very gentle, cheerful, and in addition to this they love children very much. The next positive thing about them is that they are very intelligent and they're easy to train, they should be well socialized.
